The new 2009 Acura RL combines added performance, improved technology, more aggressive styling and safety features to Acura's premier sedan that was already top tier amongst luxury performance sedans. The new RL now allows the driver to be even more connected to the world-through improved connection with the road along with improved electronic connectivity to the world around them.

The 2009 RL is powered by a new aluminum-alloy 3.7-liter VTEC V-6 that produces 300 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque while meeting stringent EPA TIER 2 - BIN 5 and CARB ULEV-2 emissions targets. It comes with a new Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission that includes larger counter shafts, revised gearing, and improved clutches along with a new torque converter replete with an improved lock-up assembly.

The design of the 2009 RL body combines sophistication with a dose of performance edge to create a luxury performance sedan with an aggressive, dynamic personality. The unit body chassis design is stiff for superior handling and utilizes a variety of steel grades in different areas where maximum strength is required.

The interior of the RL is more than just luxurious, sporty, and fully equipped with comfort and convenience features. Technology abounds in the form of the AcuraLink satellite communication system that debuted the first ever U.S. application of Real-time traffic information as standard equipment.
